DAY TWO: BUSINESS INNOVATION DAY (SATURDAY NOV 14)
Hosted by the Brooklyn Fashion + Design AcceleratorWe are partnering with 30weeks to bring you Business Innovation Day: an exercise in problem solving, looking at fashion industry pain points, and using your team's collective skills to find a viable business solution.
What to expect:
A day of skill building exercises, helping you to activate your critical and design thinking.
–Participate in creative activities to test and strengthen team collaboration
–Take on a design challenge, choosing from a selection of briefs
–Receive guidance from our mentors: ask questions, get to the root of the issue within the framework of the fashion industry
–Take that knowledge back to the drawing board. Brainstorm, iterate, ask tough questions, challenge your own ideas
–Break up the day with inspirational presentations, and learn how to present your concepts and ideas in a compelling way
–Team presentation and critique from a panel of industry experts
Who is it for:
Current and future stakeholders in the fashion industry who want to build the skills necessary to make positive change.
All skillsets are welcome:
–Designers (Fashion, Product, UX/UI, etc.)
–Business Minds (Entrepreneurs or Intrapreneurs)
–Social or Environmental Changemakers
What are the goals:
Learn how to find a productive angle for problem solving.
Learn how to apply critical thinking and design thinking methodologies through the framework of existing problems in the fashion industry.

Answer to one of the briefs identified in the design challenge, show a persuasive case of a scalable business model, and show evidence of consideration to the moral and ethical implications of the business model.
